This year, from July 21 to 31, 2024, India had the honor of hosting the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. For us, this was more than just a formal event—it was a moment of deep pride and reflection.
Standing in the grand halls of Bharat Mandapam, surrounded by representations of India’s vibrant cultural tapestry, we were reminded of why we do what we do. The conversations, the exhibits, and the coming together of international delegates to protect and celebrate heritage felt deeply personal. It echoed our own mission to preserve, honor, and share the timeless treasures of India with the world.
Heritage, for us, is not just stone monuments or ancient manuscripts. It’s the stories our grandmothers tell us, the crafts passed down through generations, and the festivals that bind communities together. Hosting this event on Indian soil was a reaffirmation of our belief that by cherishing our roots, we can inspire the future.
